Ruby
For the same size, ruby is much rarer than diamond and, although it is only one point less hard on the Mohs scale, it is 100 times less hard. Corundum develops mainly in marble-type metamorphic limestone, rich in silicon and aluminium. This rock mineral is colourless in its pure state. Its colour is formed in the presence of chromogenic elements. For it to become red, chromium atoms must replace the aluminium. It can then be called ruby. Corundum that does not contain chromium is called sapphire. [block id="best-products-rubis"]
