Opale

Because of its composition, opal cannot be considered a mineral (in fact, it has not been since 2007), but rather a mineraloid. However, by tradition, it remains defined as such, and is officially recognized by the IMA2. It has to be said that the formation of opals is atypical compared to other stones.
